Swedish consumer prices increased 1.9 percent year-on-year in November of 2017, following a 1.7 percent gain in the prior month and above market expectations of 1.7 percent. Prices advanced faster for transport (3 percent vs 2.1 percent in October); miscellaneous goods & services (3.8 percent vs 3.4 percent) while recovered for health (0.7 percent vs -0.1 percent). In addition, cost fell less for furniture & household equipment (-0.6 percent vs -0.9 percent) and clothing & footwear (-0.7 percent vs -1.9 percent). Conversely, prices slowed for: housing & utilities (2.3 percent vs 2.4 percent); recreation & culture (1.1 percent vs 1.4 percent); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (1.8 percent vs 1.9 percent); restaurants and hotels (3.6 percent vs 3.9 percent). Also, cost of food rose at the same pace (2.5 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.2 percent, after decreasing 0.1 percent in October and slightly above market consensus of 0.1 percent. Inflation Rate in Sweden averaged 3.56 percent from 1980 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 15.50 percent in October of 1980 and a record low of -1.60 percent in September of 2009.
