Norway's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in the three months to March 2018 from 4.1 percent in the October-December 2017 period, and below market expectations of 4 percent. It was the lowest jobless rate since the November-January 2015 period, as the number of unemployed went down by 4,000 from the previous non-overlapping three-month period to 108,000 while the number of employed rose by 21,000 to 2.676 million. A year earlier, the unemployment rate stood at 4.3 percent. Unemployment Rate in Norway averaged 3.60 percent from 1997 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 4.90 percent in July of 2016 and a record low of 2.30 percent in April of 2008.
