Manufacturing sales in New Zealand remained unchanged in the third quarter of 2017, following a downwardly revised 0.0 percent print in the previous period. Of the thirteen manufacturing industries, seven improved, one remained unchanged, and five declined in the third quarter. Beverage & tobacco manufacturing was up a sharp 8.4 percent. In contrast, furniture & other manufacturing was down 7.8 percent and petroleum & coal down 5.3 percent in the quarter. Industrial Production in New Zealand averaged 1.11 percent from 1996 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 8.60 percent in the first quarter of 2000 and a record low of -10.20 percent in the second quarter of 2009.
